We love the hands-on nature of the process, the ink, the colour, the layers, the little imperfections and the excitement of lifting the screen to see the final print.
For us, screen printing is not simply a way of putting a design onto something, it's a creative process in its own right. And we're excited about taking it beyond clothing.
Our journey started with textiles! We screen print our own fabrics locally in our studio, creating bold, colourful designs that become garments and accessories designed to bring a little more joy into everyday life.
Every print is created in small batches and printed by hand, giving us the freedom to experiment with colour, layering and different techniques.
We love the fact that the same design can look completely different depending on the fabric, the ink and the way it is printed.... That's part of the magic.
Our love of screen printing has naturally led us towards another exciting canvas: Paper <3! We're beginning to explore screen printing on paper and would love to start working with artists and illustrators to create beautiful, limited edition art prints.
These prints will bring our love of colour and printmaking beyond the wardrobe and into homes, studios and creative spaces, pieces that can be framed, collected and enjoyed for years.
We're particularly excited about collaborating with local artists to transform their artwork into screenprinted editions.
It's another way for us to support Melbourne's creative community while creating something completely different.
Screen printing allows us to create layers of colour, experiment with textures and play with unexpected combinations.
Because the process is hands-on, no two prints are ever completely identical. There can be tiny variations in colour, texture or registration, and we think those details are part of what makes handmade printing so special.
In a world of mass produced and digitally printed products, we love making things that still feel human.
Whether we're printing onto fabric or paper, we want our process to reflect the values behind The Green Print Collective.
We work in small batches, choose our materials carefully and use water based, non toxic inks. We keep production local whenever possible and continually look for ways to reduce waste and improve our processes.
We're interested in making fewer, better things, objects that have a story, support creativity and are made to be enjoyed for a long time.

As our collective grows, we're excited to experiment with new surfaces, new products and new collaborations.
Clothing was the beginning, fabric was our first canvas! Now we're exploring paper as well, homewares and wherever else our creativity takes us.
